An exploratory project to investigate the benefits and challenges of establishing and e-cargo micro-logistics system in Stellenbosch, that will address the environmental and social needs as well as economic development by micro-logistics and non-motorised transport.
Overview
More More!, or the Stellenbosch e-Cargo Bicycle Project, was a collaboration between ourselves, SEED, a local development NGO, and the Bavarian government, proxied by Innovation Manufactor and GIZ.
Stroom developed and provided the e-cargo bikes for the project and acted as a base of operations for the month-long project. Most of the project centered around Stellenbosch Tourism and the distribution of their promotional materials between hundreds of guesthouses within an approximate 15km radius. Other notable cargo included wine deliveries and the distribution of the local newspaper.

The project culminated in an extensive, detailed report by Innovation Manufactor (available above for download). An in-depth carbon study and a workshop with local government to introduce them to the benefits of e-cargo across the socio-economic larger context.
